Queensway Bay
Long Beach, CA
Rainbow Harbor established a vibrant waterfront identity for downtown Long Beach and a established Long Beach as one of California’s major waterfront destinations. EE&K’s design, which significantly expanded the 60-acre harbor, was largely driven by activity on the waterside. The Harbor accommodates a variety of recreational and retail uses, as well as commercial boats of all types on its new pier and floating docks. In addition to providing an ideal setting for the new Aquarium of the Pacific, the Harbor, Convention Center, the Queen Mary, Rainbow Harbor has become a primary anchor for the revitalization of the Downtown Long Beach. A celebratory “ship’s deck” esplanade ties together a diverse array of outdoor spaces along the water’s edge. Rainbow Harbor is the first phase of EE&K’s fully-entitled Master Plan for the entire Queensway Bay area.
